New fic with Heth and Faramir! Yay! This was a very interesting read, as well as a very enjoyable one. I hadn't read Fair Game for some reason, and so I'd always wondered how Faramir dealt with his aversion to sword-fighting after the War. I'd also wondered how Heth would react, given the thoughts she'd had in CMC about Faramir's happiness at not leading Ithilien anymore. Having those questioned was wonderful, but even better was having a story that looked at their friendship a few years later, from Faramir's perspective. Its possible that I'm a little attached to Faramir, particularly your Faramir, and his relationship with Heth is one of my favourites in this 'verse. The fact that seeing her smile was a good reward for the potential embarrassment of training again made me very happy that their friendship is still strong despite the different choices they've made. The fact that Eowyn and Andrahar were both implicitly signalling their support in their own, reasonably quiet, ways was also nice to see. Thank you for the fic, as always anything you have time to write is appreciated!

Hooray for a new piece from Isabeau!!

I always appreciate the deftness with which you handle complex, mixed emotions and motives, and that is evident throughout this piece, not only in Faramir's self-reflection but in the interplay between the boys and between Faramir and Andrahar. And, of course, with Hethlin! It's nice to see her more confident and comfortable in her own skin.

So sorry about the blank review - that silly 'smart text' thing was in the way, I hit return to clear it, and it posted an empty form. Grrr...

Anyhow - Faramir's return to the practice ground ought to at least get him pummeled by the best of his generation, and the previous generation! ;-) I liked the matching fierceness of the two ladies in his life - merciless, both, and both enjoying all too much his return to "this, Andrahar’s kingdom."

Thank you for my birthday pressie! Poor Faramir, the day gave him a series of stern swordswomen to contend with. I hope at the very least that after some more bouts with Heth and Andra he'll be able to give Eomer more of a run for his money.

This is as wonderful as always and deserves a load of reviews.

Great story and a delightful gap-filler for the Unabeauverse! You handle the characters and all their complexity just beautifully and with a lovely hand - concise and complete both. Love the language and many references to past events. A great joy to see Faramir, Eowyn, Heth and Andra all mixed in, along with "Imrahil's wisdom" from which Faramir continues to learn. All the usual perfect touches, and an awesome way to start my day. Thank you!

I can't believe that I missed this one in the lists for this long. I can only plead computer problems.

A total delight to be back in the Unabeauverse again, with all of my favorites outlined by your deft pen. It brought a smile to my face this morning, and that was sorely needed.
