Taxes and tariffs; placating the guilds and playing the council; restoring a city and a kingdom (or two). Present matters, future hopes. Now and again, they find the time to talk of other things. And sometimes, when the business of the day is done, they talk about the past. He tells him of Ecthelion, a wise lord who welcomed him and loved his servant like his son. He tells him of Denethor, subtle and valiant and brilliant.
