One Night in Mordor |
Another little Sam and Frodo filk set to the tune of One Night in Bangkok by Murray Head. |
Mordor, orc-infested setting And Sauron don’t know that the hobbits are getting The crème de la crème of the rangers and a Helping hand from that creature Gollum. Wraiths fly – duck down just a minute. Don’t you put that Ring on, they can only see you in it. Plans change – don’t you know that when you Battle at this level there’s no ordinary venue It’s Moria or Lorian or Emyn Muil – or – or this place. One night in Mordor and, the Ring grows restless. Mount Doom draws closer yet the Eye can’t see. We face the end upon these barren wastelands And though we’d rather run I cannot flee I can feel the One Ring gettin’ a hold of me. One place is very like another When you’re over run by Orcs and running for cover. It’s a stair! It’s a spider! And an orc infested tower As they draw ever closer to the Dark Lord by the hour. Whaddya mean you took the Ring just to keep it safe? Lembas soft and sweet Elven bread’s all that’s keeping us on our feet. I’m tired. We’ll rest for just a minute Though sleeping here has inherit danger in it Don’t you worry none Frodo, see there’s a bit of sunshine. One night in Mordor makes the strongest stumble. Not much between despair and ecstasy. One night in Mordor and the toughest tumble. Can’t be too careful with your company. I can feel the One Ring takin’ over me. Now Sam will be the only witness To this ultimate test of the Ring Bearer’s fitness. But it grips him more now than memories of the Shire or a Hobbit’s solemn promise. But thankfully Gollum’s watching the pair – shadowing them – I don’t see how we will manage When this location works to the Ring’s advantage But as I watch, the Ring employs you And if you don’t throw it in it will destroy you. I just want to go home, or back to Rivendell, no, the Shire… One night in Mordor and, the Ring grows restless Mount Doom draws closer yet the Eye can’t see We face the end upon these barren wastelands And though we’d rather run I cannot flee I can feel the One Ring gettin’ a hold of me. One night in Mordor makes the strongest stumble Not much between despair and ecstasy. One night in Mordor and the toughest tumble. Can’t be too careful with your company. I can feel the One Ring takin’ over me. |
