Day 27: Rohan, Dreams |
Thrill-seeker For Galadriel, the ultimate paradox lay in the dissatisfaction that followed attainment. People pined after a fantasy of yearnings-fulfilled, unmindful that the thrill lay in the seeking. Which was why these tests were so dangerous for her: she reveled in the power afforded, as much as in her ability to resist it, aware that this singular dichotomy made her, continually, vulnerable to the greatest temptations. The world was folding upon itself, the tests would become harder. What, when the final test came-- what if she failed? What if she succeeded? She would soon find out.
