Altariel asked for drabbles about Faramir at any stage of his career, good fortune, and Aragorn or Denethor if possible. |
"That does not seem promising." Faramir passed the spyglass to Gondor's king. After a few moments' gazing about, he grunted and lowered it. "Well, we knew they might not reach a quorum. The question is whether that failure means the Easterlings shall try for our heads when we meet." Aragorn glanced sideways, brow upraised. "Feeling lucky?" Faramir was silent then, thinking of orc arrows and near misses; bridges collapsing beneath him; wraiths, sickness, and a father's madness; a shieldmaiden whose ring he wore... Rings... and how fortunate for him that Boromir had gone first... Turning to Aragorn, he replied, "Always." |
