Forum Purpose & Rules

This forum is the place to discuss derivative works, AKA fan fiction. Although this is a site dedicated to Tolkien and his works, many writers of Tolkien fan fiction also write fiction based upon other famous works of fiction, and discussions of those works and writing in general are in order here.
Tolkien's original work, the movies and Amazon series, site news, and technical support have their own forums. Please place your conversations in the correct forum.

Do not cut and paste whole articles from other sites, rather post a small pull quote, a credit to the original site & author and a link to article.
Proper English, correct grammar and spelling are encouraged.
Ardent debate, even if heated at times is welcomed, but please remain civil.
Given the current lack of civility in discussions of politics, religion, and other hot button topics, I am asking people to refrain from making posts of that type. I want this to remain a place where Tolkien fans can meet, discuss Tolkien and escape from the troublesome world for a bit.
