Beautiful description of their meeting from Eowyn's perspective: new love has that quivering feeling.

“I believe that he intends to ask you again for your hand when he comes, and may keep on asking, all the way up to the moment you are wed. Which is one mark in his favour, as exasperating as it may become.”

Yes, that's Eomer! And you nail the older brother / younger sister relationship.

Eowyn's doubts at a distance and her worries about whether Faramir is in love with her or clinging to some happiness are very natural and well drawn.

And of course it is all good when she sees him again. I like Eowyn's frank self-appraisal of her foolishness once she sees Arwen: the changes in her life have made her grow and change from the person she was when she reached out desperately to Aragorn.

Love the moment with Gandalf. I can't think of a piece that puts Eowyn and Gandalf together in conversation. A fascinating glimpse.

Incredibly touching that it has taken her this long to say his name - and how much he has wanted her to say it. And, yes, Ithilien has to be their destination: the place that they can build together.

This is really tender and well judged piece of the growing intimacy between two reserved people putting a great deal of grief behind them. Congratulations on a wonderful first piece.

A beautifully and poetically written tale, in which little really happens, but there is so much meaning below the surface. Excellent work!
