I found this poem delightful in every way: poetic style, theme, imagination. I'm not a scholar of alliterative verse, but I can applaud the selection of this Anglo-Saxon form as perfect for use by the Rohirrim. The portrayal of Éowyn as a heroine was both well done and a most refreshing change. I especially admired how the author created a whole subworld with just a few lines and a few notes. You could just imagine Éowyn at her court in Ithilien, bringing her novel enthusiasm for the horses to her new people, and a devoted bard / historian from Rohan who dedicated his professional life to the White Lady of Rohan. Another point, small maybe but important to me, was the names. The author did a great job creating the names. The moon horse concept was a wonderful touch – it hinted at many stories yet to be told. I will re-read this poem often. Good job! – Chathol-linn
