Thank you for this, Linda! I could *feel* the heat of the desert's sun as I read. I always enjoy your writing; am overdue in overcoming my shyness and saying so. In a society like that, they would have many verbal "tags" like the ones you used concerning safe travel. How did Aragorn meet Fadil? I once tutored a grad student from Kuwait whose grandfather was a Bedouin, and hospitality was important to him.
This was well-timed; the wind-chill tonight is supposd to be below zero here! I'll think of this as I lie in bed listening to the wind wuthering around the rooftops outside...
