A fitting ending to a coming of age story - it's always about lettting go without falling utterly apart, about learning to trust the future and oneself and others to get there. The epigraph works very well, and sets the tone for this epilogue - this is what Narrator and Beren, and all the others, have given so much for: for a kind of ingratitude in the next generation, which can't really comprehend The War. I like Narrator's ambivalence about this, but also that she makes herself give the next generation its chance to be whatever it will be, beyond her own sensibilities and experiences.
Beautifully written, Aliana! Thank you!
