Ah, Maggie, what a funny and romantic story! I'm not usually a slash-lover, but this is, um, somewhat out of the ordinary for that genre ;-D ... I love the matter-of-factness -- it is so easy to accept the spider's world as the only real one... and to feel sorry for all those unfortunate creatures who only have two eyes and two legs! LOL! Foul orc-killers, indeed...
And I really want to see Helob and Morli live together happily ever after!

[2] Spiders in the Mist: An Arachnid Love Story by:Maggie Honeybite

At last! I have been waiting for this.
Wonderful job - I love your evocation of their merciless warrior culture. And considering the hazards involved in het mating for male spiders, I'm surprised that the m/m option is so rare. But I suppose that's why they put so much value on courage.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the well-earned, long-anticipated love scene, and I'm thoroughly rooting for Helob and Morly to have the happiest of endings. And this is saying a lot considering I'm a serious arachnophobe who timed her alleged "pee breaks" and "want some more popcorn?" breaks very suspiciously at every viewing of ROTK. I love this story. I don't think I could deal with the fanart.
I'm sending this link to a dear friend of mine who spent most of grad school on spiders. She digs Tolkien too. I think she'd get a kick.
