I enjoyed this very much. Boromir is very well characterized as both self-assured among his peers and thoughtful in his dawning understanding of political undercurrents present in Gondor. I also particularly loved the rich detail here: the offending armoire, the quick glimpses of the citadel and healing gardens, the sights and scents of the apothecary's stillroom where Boromir is treated by Mánion.
I've not read any of the other stories in this arc but I adore well-drawn original characters and will most certainly check out “The Exercise of Vital Powers”, “The Face of the Enemy” and “Outcasts”. I'm delighted to have found a wealth of new stories to enjoy on this too-hot Saturday!

A good reason to chastise the other youth, although as the armsmaster notes he has a good deal to learn about boxing. Prejudice is always painful to encounter.
