I like the extended edition very much!
Your point about Denethor figuring out that Aragorn was Thorongil shows so much about how he and Boromir differ.
The expanded backstory makes Aragorn's wait at Parth Galen so wrenching.
Lovely character study of Aragorn and Boromir. Their respective heritage, Denethor, the demands of the Quest, and a horde of Uruk-hai made their relationship bittersweet.
Thanks so much for sharing!

Both Frodo and Aragorn would have borne the feelings of guilt at not keeping the Fellowship safe, Frodo for not having left it with the Ring earlier, and Aragorn for not having been at the right place to defend the rest. Yet it was not the guilt of either.
Very gently told, and feels true. And excellent writing.

Beautiful. I love how you wrote all of the characters, but especially Aragorn -- and I love the way you had him talk about Denethor, not as a rival or obstacle, but as one he would have wished for an ally and friend. I feel guilty not leaving a longer review, because I really enjoyed this story. You did a wonderful job with it. As I said: beautiful.
