The story of the old woman, a weaver who lost her hearing in a plague, is great. Tolkien never showed the lives of the common people, just the Lords and Ladies. I was touched by the mother's fear when she learns her son will ride off to war. The saving of the tapestry is a great ending.
You did a great job of creating the characters and sets. Who, what, and where was clear, and you wove the whole story into canon. You have showen how much happened in one family, and was repeated a thousand times over in others, while in the book it was a few sentences from Gandalf and Théoden. Well done.
