This is a beautiful piece of writing. The description of Lórien's decay is so vivid that it is almost painful to read. In your writings you express the same sadness that always grips me whenever I read the ending of The Lord of the Rings, the grief over beauty having left the world forever. It is similar to your description of the abandoned Rivendell you present elsewhere (was it Only a Game?). Arwen's fear of the unknown abyss she is about to sink into is shown very convincingly. Since there is a strong parallel between Arwen/Aragorn and Lúthien/Beren, I always found it interesting that Arwen was so fearful and bitter about death, for Lúthien seems to have embraced it quite willingly for Beren (or so it felt to me while reading The Silmarillion). Perhaps it has something to do with Sauron's influence over the Númenóreans that had changed the attitude toward death among humans...?

a beautiful postscript for one of the points in the time of middle earth that all those who love Tolkien's works seek to understand. This is a poignant realistic imagining of Arwen's last thoughts that JR Tolkien would have been honoured to read.
