Day 31: Valinor, Stupidity

Often, while marching to the Black Gate, Pippin wondered how he'd landed on that
fix. When he volunteered before the Steward-- no, the Palantiri-- no, at the
Council of Elrond, Merry and him-- no, no, before that, when they followed Frodo
out of The Shire-- no, even before, when they tried to fill the void Bilbo
left-- no, while hearing adventures at Bilbo's feet...

Many had called him a fool before, but nothing he'd done could be more foolish
than this! He'd wished himself home-- only, not really.

So, he'd remain a fool 'till the bitter end, but not unchanged.
